Here’s a good quote from Mike Duncan about the Ancient Romans:
“The Romans never took a defeat as the last word in anything. It was almost axiomatic that the last word had to be a Roman victory. If the Romans lost, it was only a setback until final victory. It could never be an end to hostilities, because the only time the Romans allowed that was the Romans won.”
If you’ve any dreams, any goals – in your career, in your travels, whatever – don’t let the world set terms for you. Like the Romans, never give up – you’ll have bad streaks, but don’t let them stop you. Stop only at the moment you get to where you want to go.
